Andy Pacino MD, BackBench Solutions

Born in Sutton Coldfield, Warwickshire, Andy spent his formative years growing up in the smart army town of Nuneaton before heading off to University in Bangor, North Wales, to study English Lit. At uni Andy was elected President of the English and Dramatic Society, producing and co-directing plays in Bangor and Utrecht, Holland.

He gained the majority of his print press production and journalistic experience in at britain's "Best loved" newspaper, the Daily Sport, where he held the position of Deputy Production Manager for some five years before embarking on a successful writing career.

He has written and had published two books: the first, Sir Alex, United & Me (Empire), follows his love of Manchester United and charts the special relationship he built up with the manager of the world famous team.

His second book, SAS: First Man Through The Door (Mainstream) gives a first hand account of the battle between the SAS and the West Side Boys, a rebel faction of the RUF, who took hostage 11 Irish Ranger soldiers during the Sierra Leone Civil War.

As a modern SAS expert, Andy appeared as speaker on the Sierra Leone conflict for Channel five's Special Forces Heroes series. Andy's expert knowledge gave the episode the required credence it would otherwise have lacked. He has also made appearances in and worked in association with the Cutting Edge team, Granada Tonight and BBC's Kilroy programme.
